Seth Tuck

He was employed in his earlier life in the drug store of Dr. Streeter, but in 1854 he opened his own businss on his own account and continued in it till he died. In 1843 established a store on Public Square. Several years later he and son Henry C. Tuck opened the store on South Main street.

Death of Mr. Seth Tuck

After a lingering and painful illness of many months, Mr, Seth Tuck, one of the best known merchants in the city, succumbed at last to the grim monster and on Saturday night last passed away from us forever.

He was employed in his earlier life in the drug store of Dr. Streeter, but in 1854 he opened his own businss on his own account and continued in it till he died.

Mr. Tuck was in his 54th year, and left a wife and a grown up family of children. He was loved by all who knew him, was a conscientious Christian and died in the full hope of a blessd mortality. HIs funeral took place on Tuesday from his late residence on South Main street and was very largely attended.

DEATH OF HENRY C. TUCK

Henry C. Tuck, the well known druggist, died at his home, 45 Mallery Place, after a lingering illness. Deceased had not been active since last November, when he was forced to retire to his bed. A few months previously he was apparently in good health and was able to be about the store though unable to do active work. His death resulted from pareses, and when his health began to fail, he gradually sank and all hopes for his recovery were abandoned.

Mr. Tuck, who was 46 years of age, had resided in this city all his life. When very young he entered the drug business with his father, the late Seth Tuck, who in 1844 established a store on Public Square. Several years later they opened the store on South Main street, and when his father died, he took charge of the business himself. Nine years ago he was married to Miss Gertrude Moser, who, with three little children, Alfred, Henry, Jr., and Frances, survive.

Deceased was an energetic business man, and was highly respected by all those who had any transactions with him. He was very domestic in his habits and preferred being at home with his family and circulated only amongst his intimate friends. He was a man of sterling character, and his demise is greatly regretted by his many friends.

Besides his wife and family, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Helen Tuck, of Marchwood, Oa., and the following sisters, Mrs. Charles Ford of Marshwood, Pa. and Mrs. Frank E. Smith of Hackensack, N. J.
